What to Expect. . .

How should I dress?

Come as you are! God only cares that you come!

What about kids?

We love kids! Children are always welcome in worship. We have children's activity bags “Listening Bags” at the sanctuary entrances. Many children attend the first part of the worship service and then go to Godly Play, a worship experience for children. Child care is also provided for children under 3.

What's the worship like?

Worship is designed around a theme that is pertinent to the day or season. Worship includes a variety of music styles offered on the piano and organ and by the vocal choir, handbell choir and instrumentalists. The hymns that we assign represent the rich hymnody of the church. We pray and hear readings from the Bible which are interpreted by the preacher. We make financial offerings as a sign of our gratitude to God. We baptize those of all ages who wish to respond the God’s grace in their lives. Often, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper, also know as Communion or the Eucharist, where we share bread (gluten free is available) and cup (grape juice) as a celebration of Jesus Christ’s presence among us and his nourishment of our spirits.

How long does the service last?

Usually about an hour. Sometimes a little longer on special occasions, such as holidays and baptisms.

Am I required to do anything during the service?

You are invited to participate as fully in our worship as you feel comfortable. There are several times in worship where the congregation is invited to stand, if able. The Lord's Supper is celebrated frequently and is open to all. A gluten-free alternative is always available.

May I ask someone to pray for me?

Absolutely! You may call the church office and leave a message with the pastor's secretary at 585-538-4555. You may have your name printed on the prayer list or your need shared more confidentially with the deacons. Or please click here for our prayer request form.

What do Presbyterians believe?

The Life and Mission Statement of the Presbyterian Church (USA) to which we belong :

"We the Presbyterian Church (USA) are a people of God, called together by our faith in Jesus Christ as part of the whole body of Christ to worship, study and serve.

We confess...that Jesus is Lord, and in him is our hope and our peace. Bound by the Spirit to Christ's authority, we are thus free to stand in the lively joy of the grace of God."

The Great Ends of the Church

the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind

the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God

the maintenance of divine worship

the preservation of the truth

the promotion of social righteousness

the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.

As we believe, so we do.
